Automation Systems

During the past half century, industry has been slowly evolving from a high volume/low variety process to a typically low volume customized production process. This ongoing change has exponentially increased as a result of the advances in computer technology and automation during the past decade. At the heart of these processes are re-programmable, flexible intelligent systems capable of manufacturing the different parts of an object, one part after another, in lot sizes of only one article without pausing for tool change or machine set-up.

GSO's automation systems are complex integrating electronic, mechanical, and computer components. Computer-aided systems of technological processes increase efficiency, provide safety, increase output, decrease amount of waste product, economize resources and allow for a 10-15 year increase of equipment useful life span. The primary consideration is that computer-aided systems of technological processes guarantee the consistency of the quality of the manufactured product, as it is quality that determines compatibility of goods on the market. While the advantages of computer-aided systems for technological processes are evident, these systems are costly; for some companies such systems become an "item of luxury".

The leading companies sell their computer and technological software systems for $150 - $300 (sometimes up to $1,000) for each input/output. At these costs, computerization of one manufacturing section (equipment and software) is approximately $100,000 - $1,000,000, which is a substantial amount considering that the number of such sections could run into the several dozen.

Manufacturers differ in size, industry, but most drastically in level of automation. All factory owners ask themselves the same question: "How can I modernize the manufacturing process and not go bankrupt?" While searching for an answer, all modern manufacturing companies understand that none will long survive without some automation. Since our mission is to offer optimum service to all kinds of manufacturing facilities, we offer a customized automation approach- our products and services range from low tech and basic machinery optimization to high tech and intelligent software integration.
